View of Timp summit: last hill to Emerald Lake
The trail continues to wind along the bottom of the valley. Within just a few minutes you come to the last hill leading to Emerald Lake. Beyond the lake is the summit of Mount Timpanogos. The tin shack is visible against the skyline.
We've climbed nearly 4,000 feet and walked about seven miles. We're four-fifths of the way to the sky. Somehow seeing that last thousand vertical feet always takes my breath away.
