Politics

by Dale Neibaur, 1973

How Pointless!

The runaround;

Endless game

Of hide and seek,

Of coy and shy

And "look who hides behind my eyes!"

The laughter hid

Or forced too loud;

Deliberate fraud.

Avoiding glance,

Enchanting stare,

Arms interlocked

Playing

"Catch as catch can!"

! ! Run ! !

(But not too fast, or you'll leave them behind.)

Inevitable

The wandering glance;

A new romance.

Exit the old in

Tears

Fears

Enshrouding deception

Blinding Truth

Anger

Hurt.

How Pointless!

* * *

But

* * *

How Inevitable.
